Instead of just a simple quick story to read to your kids, each of the books in this series comes with a really neat “discussion concept” on the last page that opens up great conversations between you and your child, including a prayer to wrap it all up!! That’s what really sets these kids books apart from all the rest — definitely recommend!!!

I recently read Bush Breaks a Vase to my students, and we absolutely loved it. It was especially meaningful knowing that Jealene’s youngest boy is in my class, which made the story feel even more personal and special for us.
What stood out to me the most was the way Bush’s mom responds after he disobeys and accidentally breaks the vase. Instead of reacting with anger, she gives him grace. That moment sparked such an important message—not just for children, but for adults as well. Many times, we don’t give children enough grace when they are simply being children. More often than not, their actions are not driven by intentional disobedience, but by curiosity, big feelings, or learning through experience.
This book opened the door for meaningful conversations in our classroom about mistakes, honesty, and forgiveness. It is a wonderful reminder of the power of grace and understanding, and how impactful a calm, loving response can be. I highly recommend this book for classrooms and families alike.
